Where are you reading from today?
We are both reading from Sally’s home!

3 facts about me …

Sally
I teach 2nd grade students.
I”m a bookaholic.
I have the biggest classroom library in my school.
Amy
I write for three blogs.
I read and review for the two of them.
I desperately need the 24 hours of reading ;)

How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
Sally–8
Amy–25…so that I have many options

Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
5 books each!

If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, Any advice for people doing this for the first time?
Have the best time! Be sure to check out what everyone else is doing but don’t get too discouraged if they are somehow reading 3x as much as you. Just enjoy every delicious second of reading! :)

The Beginning of the Read-a-thon!

Sally and Amy here!

We are very excited to be participating in the read-a-thon. Truthfully, 24 hours of reading sounds like bliss.

Sadly, Sally has a hair appointment that simply couldn’t be rescheduled. And we plan to go to church Saturday night. But that is only an hour. The rest of the time we’ll be reading away, chugging down Diet Mt. Dew (Amy) and munching on veggies. And maybe sneaking in a plate of nachos. Maybe.

Amy’s biggest goal is to read Twilight. She has heard a lot about it and she loves vampires. She also loves romances. This should be good. In addition, she has several other YA books that need to be reviewed. So…that’s the plan!

Sally has a stack of middle grade and children’s books that were sent for review but look like good ones to pass onto the granddaughters. Her goal is to finish these and assess their suitability for her classroom.

We will definitely be updating the blog with our progress. Our goal is ten books read…five each.
