About the book:  This was the first book I have read by Jerry Eicher and I loved it!  I am always leary of a man writing about a female protagonist, but this was well-written.  I usually hold off on reading holiday books until at least October, but I wanted to read a short one, and I have been wanting to read a book by Jerry Eicher.  This book is a winner!  It’s even Christmasy, and on a 100 + degree day, that’s great!  Susanna is a very likable character.  She makes a very admirable goal to love her husband more and more, even though she  kind of hooked up with him on the rebound. For years, she had been with Matthew.  They were engaged for a while and she was crazy in love with him.  Matthew, however, left the Amish faith and Susanna stayed.  She married Herman, who was very different from Matthew.  Herman works hard, stays quiet, but feels deeply – great husband material!  The story develops sweetly, logically, and not without conflict.  Loved this book and recommend it as a great holiday read!
