Product Description: Her devastating marriage behind her, Raylene Hammond is truly thankful for her best friends, the Sweet Magnolias. They’ve taken her in, shielding her from the world. Then she meets sheriff’s deputy Carter Rollins, and suddenly Raylene’s haven no longer feels quite so safe.
Carter understands why Raylene is trapped inside. He’s even taken to bringing the outside world to her. But with two kid sisters to raise, just how much time can he devote to this woman who’s stolen his heart?
Raylene knows Carter is a man worth loving, but she may never be strong enough to accept what he’s offering. How long can she ask him to wait? Maybe they’ll never have more than this one sweet summer.
This book is available mass market in May 2010.
My Review: This book covers many issues including spousal abuse, divorce, single parenting, eating disorders, and agoraphobia. The characters are likable and again this book zeroes in on the friendship of women and the support and love they provide for one another. The love stories are sweet, although the male characters seem a little too ideal at times. There are times during reading this book that my emotions ran high – especially considering the spousal abuse. It’s nice to read about good, strong friendships and people spanning a couple of generations honestly working through their problems. I enjoyed this book and think it will make a great summer read!

Great review. This title is new to me. I like books that can easily cover heavy material.

Great review for new book. Can’t wait to read Honeysuckle summer. I always loved the smell of honeysuckle in the spring. Give me Spring Fever.
