deadlyintentwebI loved all of Camy Tang’s chick lit and I have to admit I was a little crushed to hear she was looking to move onto romantic suspense. Don’t get me wrong, I really love romantic suspense as well, I just prefer chick lit!

But that didn’t keep me from wanting to read Deadly Intent and I have to say it’s a really strong addition to the Love Inspired Suspense Collection! It didn’t take me long to realize that even in a different genre, Camy’s sharp writing, humor, and heart would show through. I’m happy to say there’s no loss here.

Naomi Grant is acting manager at her family’s luxury day spa. One day on duty, one of their clients is murdered on site! (in what I happened to think was a particularly grisly death for Love Inspired Suspense, but I’m not complaining!) Unfortunately, Naomi finds herself the subject of some scrutiny and well you know…a murder suspect. She’s also finding herself quite attracted to Devon…her client’s ex-husband and a mystery man himself!

I really enjoyed this mystery as I said before. I enjoyed the relationship between Naomi and Devon and also the setting of Sonoma County–a place I’ve never been but would like to go!

If you enjoyed Camy Tang’s chick lit and were worried that her romantic suspense wouldn’t be as good or enjoyable…set your worries aside they are unfounded. Deadly Intent is great! If you’ve never read Camy’s work before, this is a great time to start!

I’m so glad you liked Deadly Intent, Amy! And don’t worry, I’m not moving out of chick lit entirely. My next novel, releasing May 2010, is from Zondervan and is tentatively titled BAD DOG: A NOVEL. It’s a humorous contemporary romance–a lot like my chick lits, but with a bit more romance. I also hope to have another Love Inspired Suspense novel release late 2010 or early 2011.

    Thanks for the review!

This looks like a good read. I’ll have to add it to my ever-growing reading list.

If you liked this and her other chick-lit books, you’ll love a new book called ‘Knickles and Dimes’. It has hilarious characters and a really great story. I’d recommend it!

Anyway, thanks for the review : )
