I just bought my Granddaughter who is 6 the Megan Rose series.
Two new books that I enjoyed along with my grandson who is 9 was Wagget’s Tale and Wagget Again. A dog story for girls and boys.

If any of your students enjoy historical fiction, they will love Journey to the Ice by Jennifer Slattery (myself). It is about a young boy living during the time of the Tower of Babel who begins to question the status quo in order to begin his own quest for truth. But when the only city he has ever known turns into a chaotic mess of anger, hatred and distrust, his quest for truth becomes secondary to his fight for survival.

I would suggest Little House on the Prairie or Anne of Green Gables for girls. Sugar Creek Gang for boys.

I hope you will suggest Planet Of The Dogs (your review, May 3) to this teacher…Please let us know if you would like to review the other books in the Planet of the Dogs series — Castle In The Mist and Snow Valley Heroes.

Our books are recommended by teachers, including Julie Hauck, who developed the Pages for Preston therapy reading dog program for second and third graders.
