Step into Amish country for this bittersweet holiday romance. Here you’ll meet Will Henderson, a young man tortured by his past, and Karen Yoder, a young woman looking for answers. Add a desperate father searching for his son, and you have all the ingredients for a first-class romance that will inspire and enthrall.
My Review: As always I enjoyed this Wanda Brunstetter book and the story line. I didn’t find it particularly “Christmasy” though. This book could be read at any time of the year. The story has mystery, romance, and evokes emotion. I always learn a little bit more about the Amish way of life. This family does not seem as “strict” as others I’ve read about. They have phone sheds – very useful in emergencies. Ms. Brunstetter includes the recipe for White Christmas Pie, which sounds very yummy. I love learning about people’s holiday traditions. This book also provides insight into how an adopted child might feel and yearn for biological parents; even though feeling very blessed with the folks who raised him/her. I recommend this book and (other Wanda Brunstetter books) for entertaining and informative read. The books are generally fast reads and provide food for thought.

If I read it at holiday time, I want it to be Christmasy too! So I’ll make a note this is a year-round one.

I enjoy reading stories about the Amish way of life. We have a very small settlement about an hour away from us. Cindi

This sounds like a sweet read that I might enjoy picking up for my grandmother. Coming from an area very prevalent (-sp-) with Amish, I think that alone would make this more interesting.
Thanks for the heads up.
