It was not a new premise/plot, but it was real. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to at least one or maybe even all the conflicts the book presented, and that's just it - they are real conflicts, some easily resolved, others buried indefinitely but not necessarily forgotten. personally, there were moments when i had to stop and cry (just a little). dunno why, guess the book just brought back a lot of memories. ;) I just read the book and I loved it. I didn't think it was funny, really at all. I mentioned that I liked Citizen Girl because I know a lot of people didn't. I didn't like it naerly as much as The Nanny Diaries, but I still liked it.
