So we all love to read books, but have any of you ever considered writing one yourself? If you have, what would your topic or storyline be? What genre would you write in? Would you use your own name or pen name? Anyone out there really have a story to tell but just havn’t put it in writing yet? I would love to hear about it! I don’t think I have ever thought very seriously about writing a whole book (though my sister did offer to write one with me and that is a tempting offer) but I have thought about writing articles or essays. I’ve been told its best to write about what you know so I have a few topics I could consider writing about. I could write about being a wife, a mother, a Christian woman, living overseas, and perhaps I could even delve into psychology a bit as that is what I studied in university. So what about you? If you were to write a book, what would you write about? What story has yet to be told?

I’ve had a story line in my head for quite some time now. I have looked into some coarses on the internet, because i have no clue or where to start. I would love to sit down and actually write a book and hopefully I will do that oneday I just really am in need of some guidance. I have a great admiration for writers that have the gift to transport their readers into their story they have a special talent to be able to do that, I would love to be one of those people.

I’ve had a couple of stories that I’ve been carrying around. I have a rather long, tedious commute and when I’ve finished the latest audiobook and even NPR has gotten dull, I mull them over in my head. I have always been fascinated with apocalypse stories – think “Jericho” and “I Am Legend”. What would I do if it was just me, or just me and a small group of survivors? Well, if it ever does happen, I have given it plenty of thought!

I don’t think I’m creative enough for fiction, or really interesting enough for memoir, but I’ve thought sometimes about doing like reader-memoir. Basically adapting some of my ‘reading life’ blog posts and adding to them a bit(maybe some of the reviews too!).

I don’t think I’m up to writing an entire book. Some have encouraged us to journal our families journey’s in homesteading and write them up as a memoir at some point in the future. Hmmm, maybe
– but I’m not too into that right now. Maybe my husband will, then I can just edit. I do have a burden for writing/recording scripture memorization songs, particularly from the psalms, but I would just do them a psalm at a time, and have them for download
– not exactly ‘writing’.
