This is a joint blog (there are three of us who write for it) but I (Amy) will be the one participating in the Tuesday Thingers activities.

I’ve been a member of Library Thing for awhile, but only recently started getting involved in the Early Reviewer program.  I snagged my first book in April but have yet to see it show up!

This week’s question is:

Okay, now down to business. This week’s topic: Discussion groups. Do you belong to any (besides Early Reviewers)? Approximately how many? Are there any in particular that you participate in more avidly? How often do you check?

The only other group on LT I belong to is the bloggers group.  Ha.  I am always  looking to connect with other bloggers and would like to be even more involved in the book blogging community.  On Shelfari (that other site) I belong to a few discussion groups.  I find overall they are quite inactive.  I have to find a really satisfying book discussion online on something other than Harry Potter.  (which I adore)  Strangely enough, there’s plenty of discussion about TV shows.  I will be participating in a few coming up on Barnes and Nobles site, though, so hopefully they will be more engaging!  I will check a group much more regularly if it is active.

Oh by the way LT’ers if you want to be added to the blogroll, leave me a comment or email me!

If you haven’t already looked at them, you might want to check out the discussion groups at Yahoo. They seem to be a little more active than some others I’ve played with. There are a couple I keep an eye on, mostly mystery and suspense oriented – and they usually have quite a lot of discussion going on.

Amazon’s customer discussions can be fairly interesting and engaging, I follow a bunch of discussions there :) Like JLS Hall said, Yahoo’s pretty good. Lol I follow a bunch of Harry Potter ones on Yahoo! Oh and I’d loved to be added to your blogroll if you don’t mind :)

LT is really the only forum type place I participate. The other discussion groups are on blogs, either at blogger, yahoo and just recently at multiply which is more of a social network site. I keep a tight rein on my time online though because I can get a little obsessed.

LT was the first place that I joined in on the discussion groups. I will be checking out the Yahoo groups now after reading the comments above. You can add me to your blogroll, I read your blog regularly!
